Route 9 (Charles Town Pike) TO Route 267 (Dulles Greenway)
survey
No public survey is planned for this study since the improvements have already been identified as part of a previous study effort.
project purpose
To further refine and find cost efficiencies for the proposed widening project along Leesburg Pike from Charles Town Pike to Dulles Greenway to make the project more competitive for SMART SCALE funding next round. One of the ultimate goals is, as part of Phase 3 of this effort, to develop cost estimates based on information readily available to support any specific proposed project phasing, segmentation, or other alternatives developed as part of this effort that meets SMART SCALE application requirements. Previous improvement plans include widening from two lanes to three lanes in both directions, bridge replacements, noise walls, and a trail.
