The Phase 2 survey regarding potential improvements for the Route 11/Route 460 (West Main St.) at Dow Hollow Rd. (Route 647) intersection in Roanoke County is complete.
The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Route 11/Route 460 (West Main Street) at Dow Hollow Road (Route 647) intersection within Roanoke County. This study will focus on improving roadway safety and preserving capacity, including re-evaluating options from previous studies and developing additional recommendations if needed. The project recommendations from this study may be developed into funding applications for SMART SCALE Round 6 and other transportation funding programs.
Roanoke County hosted a community meeting on Feb. 28. 2024, at the Glenvar Library to receive comments on proposed safety improvements at the West Main Street (Route 11/460) and Dow Hollow Road intersection near Interstate 81 Exit 132 (Dixie Caverns).
